Everton Football Club has a history of making savvy signings, and the summer of 2023/24 was no exception. Despite a limited budget, they made some key acquisitions to help avoid relegation, a goal they ultimately achieved.
Two wingers were brought in on loan: Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal and Jack Harrison from Leeds United. While Danjuma struggled to adapt, Harrison’s loan spell was a success, leading to his return on loan for the 2024/25 campaign.

The 26-year-old Beto joined from Udinese for £25.75m but had a tough first season at Everton. According to Turkish news outlet Fotomac, Fenerbahce, now managed by Jose Mourinho, is interested in signing him. Talks are ongoing, with Everton seeking at least £16.9m for Beto. Given the initial fee, they might demand upwards of £25m to minimize losses, especially since Beto has three years left on his contract.
**Beto’s Performance and Salary at Everton**
Beto’s stint at Everton hasn’t met expectations. He scored just three goals in 30 Premier League games and added two goals in the Carabao Cup. Despite his limited impact, he earns £50k per week, more than key players like Jarrad Branthwaite (£35k per week), Ashley Young (£40k per week), James Garner (£30k per week), and Dwight McNeil (£25k per week).
Given Beto’s underwhelming performance and Everton’s financial fair play constraints, the club might decide to move him on this summer. This would free up wages and allow reinvestment in a new striker as Everton aims to secure another season in the Premier League.
