Just In; Bayern Munich have been left shocked by the terms of Michael Olise’s release clause in his Crystal Palace contract

Michael Olise has agreed to join Bayern Munich, despite interest from Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle United this summer.

Bayern Munich has reached an agreement on personal terms with Olise, and his representatives have also settled on their commission. However, the German club is finding it more complicated than expected to trigger the release clause in his contract with Crystal Palace.

The Bavarians are reportedly shocked to learn they must pay a higher amount than initially anticipated. They were informed that the initial £43m was only to open negotiations for Olise’s transfer, but the final fee is closer to £50m. Additionally, both Olise and his former club Reading are entitled to a share of the transfer fee.

Bayern Munich, surprised by the overall cost, is now trying to negotiate the fee down. However, Crystal Palace is standing firm, insisting on receiving the full initial £43m, as they need to allocate parts of the fee to Olise and Reading as per their agreement.
