HITC understands that Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze has been unsettled by the imminent transfer of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.
We reported that Bayern Munich is close to signing the French winger after Chelsea dropped out of the race. Chelsea claims they withdrew due to Olise’s high demands, but HITC has learned that Chelsea ended their pursuit when it became clear Olise preferred Bayern over Stamford Bridge.
Following Thomas Tuchel’s unsuccessful tenure in Bavaria, former Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has been assigned to revitalize the German giants, and Olise could be a significant addition this summer.
Sources have told HITC that Eze was very close to Olise and believed they could have continued together under Oliver Glasner to achieve success next season. The sale of Olise has reportedly led Eze, who has been called up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the European Championships in Germany, to reconsider his future at Selhurst Park.
HITC previously reported that Tottenham Hotspur is interested in the former Queens Park Rangers midfielder, and other clubs are also reportedly interested.
Several Premier League clubs have shown interest in Eze, who has yet to feature in the European Championships as England struggled through the group stages and will face Slovakia on Sunday. HITC can reveal that Tottenham, Manchester City, and Liverpool have all contacted Eze’s camp about a potential move this summer.
