Journalist Ben Jacobs has highlighted Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr as a potential contender in the race to sign Emerson Royal.
### Emerson Royal is set to leave Spurs this summer
Emerson’s tenure at Spurs appears to be coming to an end, especially with the recent news that Tottenham has signed Archie Gray from Leeds United. Gray is expected to serve as Pedro Porro’s understudy next season.
AC Milan remains the most likely destination for the Brazilian, with Gazzetta dello Sport recently reporting that the Rossoneri are confident of finalizing the deal. While Tottenham values Emerson at around €20m (£17m), Milan believes a bid of around €18m (£15.2m) could secure the transfer.
### Al-Nassr enters the race for Emerson Royal
According to Jacobs, Al-Nassr has not abandoned their pursuit of Emerson and is now considering making an offer to Tottenham. The Saudi club, which boasts stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Aymeric Laporte, Marcelo Brozovic, Alex Telles, and David Ospina, is reportedly ready to add the Tottenham defender to their ranks.
Jacobs stated on The Last Word on Spurs podcast: “I would also keep an eye on Saudi and Al Nassr, who are considering making an approach.” He later reiterated: “Keep an eye on Emerson and Al-Nassr if the Milan deal falls through, and I think it will be a surprise if we get to the end of the window and Emerson is still a Spurs player.”
### Spurs Web Opinion
Tottenham is likely open to selling Emerson to the highest bidder, but it seems the right-back is not inclined to move to Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career. Unless there are unforeseen developments, it is expected that he will complete his proposed switch to San Siro in the coming weeks.
