Many Crystal Palace fans are wondering why Bayern Munich has yet to announce the signing of Michael Olise.

Fabrizio Romano has provided a significant update on the 22-year-old’s move to Bavaria.

The reliable Italian journalist states that Crystal Palace asked Bayern Munich for a share of any future fee Bayern might receive from the potential sale of Olise, causing a delay in the paperwork, which has only just been signed.

Romano adds that “this was the key point to clarify,” suggesting that Steve Parish and Dougie Freedman got what they wanted as a medical is now scheduled for Sunday.

Olise is currently in Paris with the France team for the Olympic Games this summer, so he will presumably undergo his medical examinations at Thierry Henry’s training base for the competition.

Once Olise’s £55m move is finalized, Freedman seems to have two options lined up as replacements.

Club Brugge’s No.32 Antonio Nusa is one potential replacement for the France U21 international, and Freedman has reportedly held talks with the Belgian club about signing the Norway international, who has a £25m price tag.

Another candidate to replace Olise is Hull City’s No.23 Jaden Philogene. Romano reported in a separate story on Wednesday that Crystal Palace has made an offer to sign the England U21 international.

At this moment, one of these wingers is most likely to replace Olise, though it is possible both could be signed.
