**Tottenham’s Missed Opportunities and Berahino’s Failed Move**

Recently, speaking to Rising Ballers, former West Brom striker Saido Berahino opened up about his failed move to Spurs. He revealed that he almost joined Tottenham under Mauricio Pochettino, but the deal was ruined by Daniel Levy.

**Saido Berahino on Failed Tottenham Move**

Berahino discussed how he nearly joined Spurs and how Daniel Levy’s approach to the deal caused it to fall through. West Brom was reluctant to sell him, and Tottenham’s offer was insufficient.

“West Brom didn’t want to sell me. Tottenham was another step, so I just wanted to progress,” Berahino said. “I think anyone in my shoes would’ve wanted to move on. It was a good club, a big club. No disrespect to West Brom. Pochettino promised and said a lot of nice things to me. I felt like if I went there, I would definitely progress, but it didn’t happen.

“West Brom’s chairman and Daniel Levy are the worst people to do business with because they do business their way. I found out that it’s because the deal on the table was really bad. Tottenham wanted to sign me for £20m, but £1m up front and the rest in installments, and then they couldn’t replace me, so the chairman said ‘no way’.”

**Tottenham Got Lucky**

A decade ago, Berahino was one of the most promising young talents in English football, scoring prolifically for West Brom and looking like a future star. However, his form quickly declined, and he ultimately ended up playing in League One before turning 30.

Tottenham was fortunate that the £20m deal for Berahino fell through. Instead, they placed their faith in Harry Kane, which turned out to be a much better investment.
