"Huge" £150,000-per-week forward now holds talks to join Ange at Tottenham

A “huge” forward has entered talks about joining Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham through his representatives, as Spurs continue to seek more attacking reinforcements.

### Spurs Eyeing New Winger After Securing Timo Werner

Despite extending Timo Werner’s loan for another season, which includes an £8.5 million buy-option, technical director Johan Lange and the recruitment team are still in search of new forwards.

This week, Spurs have shown interest in re-signing Marcus Edwards and may compete with Crystal Palace for his signature. Other Premier League stars linked to Tottenham include Wolves winger Federico Chiesa and Palace’s Eberechi Eze.

Reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirms that Spurs want another top option in this position and have been discussing internally the investment needed for a new wide-attacker.

“There is appreciation from Spurs for Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace,” Romano said recently on Playback (via GiveMeSport). “And also with other options like Pedro Neto. Tottenham likes Eze and Pedro Neto, and they have decided how much they want to spend in that position. So there are internal conversations, but they will bring in one more offensive player for sure.”

Both Neto and Eze are expected to command high fees, so Levy might consider looking abroad for alternatives. Juventus and Italy star Federico Chiesa could be a great option, possibly costing just £25 million this summer.

### Chiesa in Talks to Join Tottenham via His Representatives

According to HITC, Chiesa has held talks about joining Tottenham through his representatives, with the £150,000-per-week forward open to a move to England. The versatile left-winger scored 10 goals and assisted three others for Juve last season. Chiesa also has over 50 international caps and has been praised for his performances in recent years.

“He’s a huge player and has been linked with several clubs in England. I’m sure they’re wondering, ‘why didn’t we get him?'”, said pundit Rio Ferdinand in 2021. “He’s a fantastic footballer with great intensity. He was the main goal threat for Italy during the Euros 2020. His pace, drive, and directness make him a modern-day striker comfortable across the front line.”

Joe Cole, another pundit and former England international, likened Chiesa to Luis Suarez, praising his humility and ability to create something out of nothing.

“Every club in Europe will want him when he becomes available,” said Cole.
