Nottingham Forest continue their search for more players this summer, aiming for a better Premier League campaign. After finishing 16th and 17th in their last two seasons, owner Evangelos Marinakis is looking to improve the team’s performance.

So far, Forest’s recruitment has been strong, adding Elliot Anderson, Nikola Milenkovic, and Carlos Miguel. The club is now targeting Ismaila Sarr to fill remaining gaps in their squad. However, they face competition from Crystal Palace, who are also keen to sign the Marseille star.

According to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, Crystal Palace is intensifying efforts to land Sarr, who previously played in England with Watford, registering 57 goal contributions. Last season, he made 35 appearances for Marseille, scoring five goals and providing six assists. Senegalese legend El Hadji Diouf has labeled Sarr “world-class,” and the winger is eager to return to the Premier League.

Despite Sarr’s talent, his signing may not make sense for Forest as they already have right-footed wingers Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga. A left-footed winger would bring more balance to the squad. Both Elanga and Hudson-Odoi had strong 2023/24 campaigns, and Forest may prioritize other positions.

Forest’s signing of Elliot Anderson for around £15 million bolstered their midfield. The 21-year-old, nicknamed ‘The Geordie Maradona’ by Newcastle fans, is working hard in Spain to secure a place in Nuno Espirito Santo’s team. Anderson has expressed his desire to play as a No. 8, No. 10, or left-wing, aiming to provide creativity and goals.

Despite a well-stocked midfield with Ibrahim Sangare, Danilo, Nicolas Dominguez, and Ryan Yates, Anderson offers a different skill set. He is determined to earn regular game time and make an impact during the 2024/25 season. Anderson’s versatility and potential make him a valuable addition, and it will be interesting to see how he fits into Forest’s plans.
