LATEST UPDATE: Crystal Palace officials are reportedly flying to Marseille to make the final push to sign 26-year-old Monumental Winger

Crystal Palace officials are reportedly flying to Marseille to make a final push to sign 26-year-old Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr.

According to The Sun, Crystal Palace is interested in acquiring Ismaila Sarr. The club’s sporting director, Dougie Freedman, has long pursued the Marseille winger. Representatives from the South London club are heading to France to finalize the transfer of the 26-year-old from the Ligue 1 club during the summer window.

**The Ismaila Sarr Story**

Ismaila Sarr had an inconsistent spell after joining Marseille from Watford last summer. Born in Saint-Louis, he began his career in Senegal before moving to France in July 2016. He gained prominence at Stade Rennais, leading to Watford signing him in August 2019.

Although Sarr didn’t reach superstar status at Watford, he was arguably their best player during his four years there, contributing five goals and six assists in 35 appearances last season. His market value remains high, attracting interest from several prominent European clubs. With his likely departure from Ligue 1 after just one season, a return to the Premier League seems probable, with Crystal Palace keen to secure his services.

**Premier League Return on the Horizon?**

Crystal Palace’s interest in Ismaila Sarr is logical. The Eagles need a wide attacker after losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich and facing uncertainty over Eberechi Eze’s future, while Jordan Ayew is past his prime.

Investing in a wide attacker like Sarr makes sense, and Palace appears ready to end their six-year pursuit of the Senegalese international. Sporting director Dougie Freedman has been chasing Sarr for years, and the club is now making a final effort to land him.

Crystal Palace officials will travel to France to finalize the signing of the 26-year-old Marseille winger. It remains to be seen if the upcoming negotiations will be successful.
