Manchester City are reportedly trailing behind Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign a particular Premier League player.

Meanwhile, Manchester City and Real Madrid remain the dream destinations for many players, as Nottingham Forest defender Murillo mentioned earlier this month.
Heading into the 2024/2025 season, City are expected to be frontrunners in every competition once again.
Journalist Ben Jacobs reported, “City are interested in Eberechi Eze, but Tottenham’s interest is more advanced. For City, it depends on Kevin De Bruyne leaving, which is unlikely this summer, more likely next.”
On Monday, it was claimed that City were targeting Eze, valued at £68 million, as a potential replacement for De Bruyne if he moved to the Saudi Pro League.
However, Guardiola confirmed that De Bruyne is staying at Manchester City this season, eliminating the need to consider Eze as a replacement.
With De Bruyne and Phil Foden as their primary attacking midfielders and Oscar Bobb capable in that role, City are well-stocked.
In contrast, Tottenham only has James Maddison as an established number 10, making their interest in Eze more serious than City’s.
