Liverpool line up £98m double deal as 'talks advancing' towards first signings

The latest Liverpool transfer news and rumors suggest that the Reds are close to finalizing multiple deals to strengthen their squad this summer. After a quiet June and July with few movements in or out of the club, August seems set to bring significant changes.

Liverpool are reportedly working on signing a central defender and a defensive midfielder, which would help fill the gaps left by Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara’s departures. Additionally, there are ongoing discussions about bringing in another wide forward to bolster the attack, especially with Mohamed Salah entering the final year of his contract.

While Football Insider doesn’t name specific players, GIVEMESPORT claims Liverpool are considering signing Pedro Neto and Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the potential deals nearing £100 million. Liverpool have reportedly inquired about Neto’s availability through his representative at Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute agency. Neto, a Portuguese international with a reported £60 million price tag, is seen as competition for Luis Diaz rather than a replacement.

Rayan Ait-Nouri, meanwhile, has been linked with Manchester United. A rumored £38 million release clause in his contract could make a double deal for Neto and Ait-Nouri cost just under £100 million. The club is reportedly interested in Ait-Nouri as competition for Andy Robertson, potentially replacing Kostas Tsimikas. However, Neto is considered the priority target, despite having three years left on his contract, giving Liverpool limited leverage in negotiations.
