"I never wanted to join spurs but what i told got me shocked..."- Archie Gray has shared the crucial advice from his family that played a significant role in his transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.

The young talent left Leeds United this summer after an impressive season that nearly led to Premier League promotion under Daniel Farke. However, after falling short in the play-off final, Gray was sold to balance Leeds’ finances, with his move to North London providing financial relief for the club.

Initially, there was speculation that the 18-year-old was set to join Brentford after agreeing on personal terms. However, after extensive discussions with Ange Postecoglou, Gray opted for Tottenham. In a recent interview with Football London, Gray revealed that his father, Andy, was a major influence in his decision, emphasizing the club’s infrastructure and stature. His grandfather also supported the move, believing it was the right time for Gray to join one of England’s biggest clubs.

“It’s a huge club, and my dad emphasized that,” Gray said. “He came into my room one morning and said, ‘You have to go to Spurs. It’s a massive club.’ My grandad also agreed, saying that at some point, you have to join one of the biggest clubs in England, and he believes now is the right time.”

“With the advice from people who have guided me throughout my life, I knew I had to listen. I also wanted to make the move, so it was a big decision for me, and I’ve enjoyed every moment since. I’m definitely happy I made that choice,” Gray added.
