Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran has turned down an opportunity to join Saudi club Al Hilal, who approached him after their bid for Barcelona’s Victor Roque fell through. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Colombian forward only wants to move to West Ham, which has frustrated Villa as they are intent on selling the player on their own terms.
Villa had rejected West Ham’s offer of just under £40 million for Duran last week and were interested in negotiating a deal with Al Hilal. The club is looking to recoup funds after a recent spending spree and navigating around Financial Fair Play regulations. Villa is open to selling Duran, but only for the right price. They were expecting West Ham to submit a fourth bid, but negotiations are currently at a standstill, and a deal is still possible, though not imminent.
