The 2024/25 Premier League season hasn’t started yet, but Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are already competing fiercely. According to sources from CaughtOffside, both clubs are vying to sign the same player this summer: Wolves winger Pedro Neto.
Although Neto has expressed contentment at Wolves, the club would likely accept an offer of around £60 million. Tottenham’s coach, Ange Postecoglou, sees the Portuguese winger as a valuable addition and has reportedly had representatives meet with Neto’s inner circle to discuss his situation.
Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, on the other hand, is looking for a winger to back up Bukayo Saka, and Neto fits the bill. However, Neto’s desire for sufficient playing time might make Arsenal less appealing if he is considered only as a substitute.
Newcastle United is also in the race, having already held talks with Neto’s camp. Wolves, though not in a hurry to sell, would consider offers in the £55-£60 million range.
There is still time for Arsenal or Spurs to secure Neto before the transfer window closes. An early offer would give Wolves time to strengthen other areas of their squad, though manager Gary O’Neil might be reluctant to lose a player who contributes significantly on the field.
With weeks left in the transfer window, a deal could still be finalized.
