Jesus Vallejo has returned from loan but is dealing with physical issues, leaving Carlo Ancelotti to rely on young, inexperienced players like Joan Martinez, Jacobo Ramon, and Raul Asencio.
Real Madrid willing to spend €50 million on Cristian Romero
In light of these challenges, reports have surfaced indicating Real Madrid’s interest in Tottenham and Argentina defender Cristian Romero. According to Doble Amarilla, Real Madrid has already inquired about Romero and is prepared to offer €50 million for his transfer.
However, Tottenham has informed the Spanish and European champions that Romero is “non-transferable.” The 26-year-old, who has been with Tottenham for three years and was recently promoted to vice-captain, is deemed crucial to the team. Additionally, Romero has achieved significant success with Argentina, winning two Copa America titles and the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Given his importance to the club and his contract running until 2027, it is unsurprising that Tottenham considers him indispensable. Even if they were open to selling, €50 million would likely be insufficient for a player of Romero’s caliber.
Thus, while Real Madrid may admire Romero, a transfer this summer appears highly improbable.
