Leeds United and 49ers Enterprises have reportedly rejected a substantial offer to sell another star player.
**Leeds Players Departing This Summer**
Leeds United and Daniel Farke missed out on promotion to the Premier League last season, leading to the departure of several key players to top-flight clubs. Archie Gray was the first notable exit, joining Tottenham, followed by Crysencio Summerville’s move to West Ham, with the club earning nearly £80m from these transfers.
Before Summerville’s exit was confirmed, Farke praised the Dutch winger, emphasizing the difficulty of replacing him.
“Obviously, he was not only named but also considered the best player in this league last season, with many goals and assists. It will never be easy to replace him one-on-one. We need to bring in a player in his position, but as a team, we must ensure we share his goals and assists.
“To bring in a new player who will be the best in this league will be difficult, as it requires significant spending. I’ve expressed my admiration and value for him, and we will miss him, but a club never relies on just one person—player, coaching staff member, or manager. The club and the team are always bigger.
“We are working to find good solutions to compensate for his loss and aim to be stronger in other areas. This is what we will do once this transfer happens, and I expect it to happen.”
Despite these departures, some players at Elland Road have been linked with potential moves. Leeds rejected a bid from Brighton for Georginio Rutter earlier this summer, and Brenden Aaronson has received enquiries from abroad. Wilfried Gnonto has also attracted interest, particularly from Everton.
**Leeds Rejected Everton Bid for Gnonto**
According to Graham Smyth of The Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds rejected a £23m bid from Everton for Gnonto. Leeds are hopeful of keeping the Italian international beyond the transfer window.
Smyth reports that Gnonto is not pushing for a move away and is expected to start against Portsmouth this weekend following Summerville’s departure.
