Conor Gallagher, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham throughout the summer, is the player in question. The Chelsea midfielder was previously close to a transfer to Atletico Madrid, but talks stalled, and he returned to London.
Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Gallagher will not be in Chelsea’s squad for their match against Manchester City on Sunday. “Conor is back and training separately,” Maresca told BBC Sport. “He is undergoing medical tests and won’t be involved in this game. He’s looking for a solution with the club, and we’ll see what happens. Hopefully, the situation ends with everyone happy.”
Gallagher appears set for a transfer this summer, but it’s uncertain if Tottenham will make a move in the final weeks of the window. Much depends on whether Atletico Madrid can reach an agreement with Chelsea for the £36 million-rated player. If negotiations fall through, Tottenham and other clubs could seize the opportunity.
