"SHOCKING PREDICTION" - 10 different pundits all forecast Tottenham to finish in a STUNNING position that no one saw coming.

Ange Postecoglou has geared up his Tottenham Hotspur squad for his second season in charge, aiming to improve on last season’s 5th-place finish. Ten pundits are backing Spurs to achieve that goal.

Tottenham have made significant changes to their squad this summer. After years of hinting at the need for a “painful rebuild,” as first mentioned by Mauricio Pochettino, the club has finally taken decisive steps. Seven fringe players have already left, and Postecoglou has brought in several new additions. Among them, Dominic Solanke, a much-needed striker, joined the team in a club-record transfer.

As Spurs prepare for their 2024/25 campaign, which kicks off on Monday, excitement is growing, fueled by the surprise signing of Burnley winger Wilson Odobert—an unexpected move in today’s world of sports journalism dominated by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

Despite the changes in North London, only 10 out of 29 BBC Sport pundits have predicted Tottenham will finish in the top four this season. These pundits include Ndeum Onuoah, Sue Smith, Danny Gabbidon, Leon Osman, Danny Murphy, Clinton Morrison, Paul Robinson, Chris Sutton, Michael Brown, Theo Walcott, and Jermaine Beckford. Beckford, a former Leeds United striker, was the only one to predict Spurs finishing third. BBC Sport’s point system, based on pundit predictions, suggests Spurs will clinch fourth, with Manchester United and Newcastle close behind.

This marks an improvement over last season’s predictions, where Tottenham received no votes to finish in the top four.

Postecoglou is gradually shifting expectations at Spurs after an impressive first season, showing signs of progress. While the Australian manager may not focus on outside opinions, there is growing confidence in his ability to lead Tottenham into the top four this season. By bringing in players who are committed to his vision and moving on those who aren’t, Spurs now have a collective mentality aligned with Postecoglou’s style of football.
