Everton are reportedly preparing to submit a bid in the coming days for Atletico-MG striker Alisson, as reported by Goal Brazil.
The outlet revealed on 19 August that the 18-year-old forward has a release clause of £51.2 million for clubs outside Brazil.
The Brazilian club is said to be anticipating an offer from Everton for Alisson, who can also play on the wings.
However, it’s unlikely that Everton will pay over £50 million for the young striker.
The Toffees’ interest in Alisson, despite his potential, needs to be carefully weighed against the club’s current priorities and financial situation.
Given Everton’s financial constraints, spending over £50 million on an 18-year-old forward, even one as versatile as Alisson, seems excessive. The club has already strengthened its attack with the signings of Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom, but they still have an urgent need for a defender.
While Alisson could add depth to the forward line, where options already exist, investing in a defender and a more experienced midfielder would better address Everton’s immediate tactical needs, helping them remain competitive in the Premier League.
Unless Atletico-MG significantly lowers their asking price, this deal appears unlikely.
