Speaking after the game, Solanke, who made his Tottenham debut, told SpursPlay: “We are really disappointed not to get the three points. That’s always our goal going into every game, especially as we aim for big achievements this season.
“I think we played well at times but weren’t clinical enough in front of goal. It’s frustrating not to win, especially after dominating for most of the game, but it’s only the first match. We’ll work on putting it right in the next game.”
Solanke and Tottenham now turn their attention to their upcoming home game against Everton on Saturday. The striker shared his excitement about playing in front of the Spurs fans for the first time at their stadium.
Discussing the upcoming clash with Everton, the 26-year-old said: “I’m really looking forward to it. It’s an opportunity to make things right in front of the home fans. I’ve been here just over a week, and I’ve been eager for this moment. It was great to play with the team and in front of the fans today. We’re disappointed not to get the win, but we’ll keep improving and aim for the three points next time.”
