Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier has reportedly expressed his desire to leave the club before the transfer window closes.
Eddie Howe has chosen Tino Livramento as his preferred right-back for the new season, which would likely leave Trippier on the bench—a situation he’s not willing to accept as he nears the end of his career, which is understandable.
Trippier was previously linked with a move to Bayern Munich in January, though the deal didn’t materialize, and rumors of a move to Saudi Arabia have persisted for months. However, Everton now seems to be a possible destination, with the Toffees reportedly interested in securing a loan deal for the 33-year-old.
Following the news, Sean Dyche addressed the Trippier rumors during his pre-match press conference.

Dyche, who previously worked with a younger Trippier at Burnley, knows the player well. However, he downplayed the speculation, stating that Trippier is just one of several players the club is considering, as reported by Liverpool World.
“He’s one of many names that have come up here; it’s interesting how his name comes up just when we don’t have a right-back, isn’t it? The club seems pretty firm in the business we’ve done so far, but football is unpredictable—who knows what could happen? Overall, I think everyone understands our current situation.
“I think it’s unlikely [when asked about further signings]; we’ve brought in players who we believe can develop into Premier League talent, though they may not be game-ready just yet. For example, Tim’s [Iroegbunam] record shows he played about two league games’ worth of minutes last season, Jesper [Lindstrom] played about eight, and Iliman [Ndiaye] about 17, so they still have a way to go to reach full Premier League speed.”
Dyche downplayed the club’s interest in Trippier
While Dyche downplayed the links, suggesting that the club’s transfer business might be done for the summer, it’s clear he wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring Trippier to Everton for a season.
With only about a week left before the transfer window closes, clubs will need to act quickly if they want to secure a deal for Trippier.
Likewise, Newcastle must also move fast to finalize their own transfer targets, although quick action hasn’t been the club’s strong suit so far.
