Tottenham Hotspur are now fully operational in the Premier League following their 4-0 thrashing of a struggling Everton team in north London.
Spurs were dominant against Everton, just as they were against Leicester on Monday, but this time they capitalized more effectively on their chances.
Ange Postecoglou’s side took the lead in the 14th minute when Yves Bissouma delivered an exceptional shot from the edge of the box.
They doubled their advantage in the 25th minute as Son Heung-min took advantage of a heavy touch from Jordan Pickford on a back pass, rounded the keeper, and scored.
Cristian Romero then made it 3-0 in the 71st minute, heading in from a corner in his 100th club appearance, striking the ball off the underside of the bar.
Son scored his second of the match six minutes later, shooting through Pickford’s legs after Micky van de Ven made a significant run up the pitch.
James Maddison praises Yves Bissouma
The match marked Bissouma’s first competitive appearance for Spurs this season, having missed the Leicester game due to disciplinary reasons.
James Maddison, speaking after the game, praised Bissouma’s “ridiculous” talent and encouraged him to continue his hard work.
“The 4-0 scoreline is quite overwhelming,” Maddison told Sky Sports, as quoted by BBC Sport.
“We thoroughly deserved the win. We felt we should have taken all three points against Leicester last Monday.
“We all know Yves’ [Bissouma] skill. He can be exceptional at times. He has a talent that few possess. The manager is a great leader with strong values. Yves needs to keep putting in the effort.
“The performance against Leicester was good; we just didn’t convert our chances. It’s crucial to implement what the manager wants and trust his approach.”

Having earned four points from their first two Premier League games, Tottenham will next face Newcastle United away on Sunday, September 1, with kickoff scheduled for 1:30 pm.
