Working on the background: Fabrizio Romano teases late Tottenham transfer activity with EXCITING update

Tottenham Hotspur is still actively seeking new players in the final week of the transfer window, with the potential signing of a left-back being considered, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano in an interview with GIVEMESPORT.

Under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham has made significant summer signings, including Dominic Solanke for £65 million from Bournemouth, alongside Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Timo Werner, and Wilson Odobert. Despite these additions, Spurs may not be finished yet and are contemplating further reinforcement in the left-back position to provide additional cover for Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies.

Although there have been no strong links to left-back targets so far, Tottenham’s pursuit may hinge on the future of Sergio Reguilon, who remains with the club and is rumored to be interested in a move to Manchester United. Given this situation, Postecoglou may seek another left-back to bolster the squad.

Romano stated on August 23rd that Tottenham could still act late in the transfer window to sign a left-back, noting the club’s tendency to keep transfer targets confidential. Therefore, any potential deals might emerge in the final days of the window.

Another possibility for Tottenham could be acquiring an additional centre-back, which would allow Davies to focus solely on covering for Udogie. Barcelona’s Andreas Christensen has been mentioned as a potential target, with the Danish defender potentially available due to financial constraints at the Catalan club. Postecoglou is reportedly interested in Christensen as a viable option.
