Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a £42 million forward, with recent internal discussions highlighting him as a player to watch in the final days of the transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Having already secured four major signings this summer—Timo Werner, Archie Gray, Dominic Solanke, and Wilson Odobert, totaling around £113 million—Spurs chairman Daniel Levy may look to add one more player to manager Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
Tottenham’s recent 4-0 Premier League victory over Everton, with goals from Yves Bissouma, Son Heung-min (2), and Cristian Romero, suggests a promising season ahead. Building on their fifth-place finish last season, Spurs aim to qualify for the Champions League and compete for major trophies. However, their busy schedule, including the new Europa League format starting next month, poses challenges.
Spurs are rumored to be targeting a new midfielder before the August 31 transfer deadline, with Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur, Gray, and Bissouma as their current options. Gray’s recent performances as a right-back for Leeds United raise questions about how Postecoglou will utilize him, especially with Emerson Royal’s departure to AC Milan and no senior cover for Pedro Porro.
There are also suggestions that Spurs may prioritize signing a centre-back before the window closes. Amid these developments, Bayern Munich forward Kingsley Coman has emerged as a potential target.
Ben Jacobs of GiveMeSport reported that Spurs are contemplating a late bid for Coman, who would cost around £42 million. According to Romano, there is significant Premier League interest in Coman, and he could make a surprising move away from Bayern in the final days of the window.
Romano stated on his YouTube channel, “Kingsley Coman is a player to watch in the final hours of the transfer window. There is still strong interest from Premier League clubs and Barcelona. Coman’s potential departure from Bayern could be a surprise.”
Despite only playing 16 league minutes for Bayern this season, Coman had a notable contribution last year with six goals in 17 appearances.
