Tottenham's efforts proved fruitless as Leicester City outmaneuvered them to secure the signing of the highly-rated ‘wonderkid,’ who was anticipated to strengthen Ange's squad.

Tottenham Hotspur have focused heavily on acquiring young talent during this summer’s transfer window.

The North London club has already signed four teenagers and may add more players before the transfer deadline on Friday.

The most recent addition is Wilson Odobert from Burnley, joining Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Yang Min-hyuk, and Dominic Solanke as part of their summer intake.

Earlier this year, Tottenham showed interest in another young prospect, but he is now set to sign with Leicester City. According to voetbalkrant, Tottenham was in discussions to acquire Genk’s promising playmaker Bilal El Khannouss, who is also reportedly of interest to Liverpool.

However, El Khannouss is expected to join Leicester City for around £17.2 million, as reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Described as a ‘wonderkid’ by FourFourTwo, he is scheduled for a medical on Wednesday before finalizing a four-year contract with Leicester.

Tottenham is still active in the transfer market and is likely to make one or two more additions. They are particularly looking for a left-back to provide backup for Destiny Udogie, though no specific names have been mentioned yet. Michael Kayode, a right-back target, might also serve as a potential option for left-back duties if necessary.

The upcoming week will be crucial for Tottenham’s transfer plans.
