Deal Almost Done; West Ham have just made contact to sign ‘phenomenal’ Tottenham player on deadline day

West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have been among the most active clubs in this summer’s transfer window.

West Ham has made notable acquisitions as Julen Lopetegui shapes his squad. Meanwhile, Tottenham, under Ange Postecoglou, has seen 14 players leave as the club clears out unwanted members of the squad.

With only hours left in the transfer window, both clubs are working to finalize any remaining deals. For Tottenham, deadline day may bring additional departures before the window closes until January. West Ham could also see some exits, with Danny Ings potentially on his way out.

There’s even the possibility of a transfer between these London rivals before the day ends. West Ham has expressed interest in signing Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. Although West Ham has reached out, Real Betis is currently the frontrunner for the Argentine international.

Lo Celso, who recently won his second Copa America, is one of Tottenham’s players expected to be sold today. Real Betis is keen on re-signing him, having previously sold him to Tottenham for £55 million.

Before Lo Celso’s move to Tottenham, Lionel Messi reportedly recommended him to Barcelona, calling him “the best player in the national team,” according to AS Sport. Despite his success with Argentina and multiple Copa America wins, Lo Celso’s time at Spurs has been less fruitful. After several loan spells, he is now seeking a permanent move, as he is not part of Postecoglou’s plans.
