"INcredible" – After Sunderland’s 3-1 win over Portsmouth, Jobe Bellingham's remarkable performance led fans to compare him to Sergio Busquets, while Jude Bellingham delivered a surprising response following Sunderland’s victory.

Jobe Bellingham delivered another standout performance in Sunderland’s 3-1 victory over Portsmouth.

The midfielder has returned to his preferred central role and is the only Sunderland midfielder to start all four of their Championship matches this season. His performances have garnered significant praise, and he appears to have elevated his game from last season.

In this match, Bellingham was positioned slightly deeper than in previous games, with Alan Browne taking on a more attacking role. Despite this change, Bellingham excelled, winning three aerial duels, earning two free kicks, and making three tackles. His defensive capabilities have notably improved since Regis Le Bris took over, and his teammates have recognized his growth, with Romaine Mundle even comparing him to Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets.

After the game, Bellingham posted on Instagram: “Tough graft at a difficult place to go, 4/4 nevertheless. Back for more after the break…” Mundle responded with: “Jobe Busquets ”, while Bellingham’s brother Jude also showed support with a simple: “Top.”

The 18-year-old has transformed from last season, where he was often criticized for being overused and underperforming. Now, he has emerged as a key player, demonstrating his potential and versatility in the midfield. Bellingham’s contributions are proving invaluable, contrasting with last season’s struggles where Pierre Ekwah was frequently selected despite poor form.

Sunderland’s midfield now appears much stronger, and players will be keen to avoid injuries or suspensions, knowing it could be challenging to regain their positions. This is a concern for Dan Neil, who was sent off last week. While Neil remains a key player, dropping Bellingham, Browne, or Chris Rigg after the international break would be a difficult decision.
