Tottenham Hotspur’s 18-year-old midfielder Lucas Bergvall recently recounted a humorous moment from his summer initiation into the team.
After joining Spurs in July 2024 with an £8.5 million transfer, Bergvall had to undergo the traditional initiation ritual, which involved performing a song for the squad. He chose ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” but his rendition was met with playful boos from his new teammates.
In an interview with Aftonbladet, Bergvall said, “I sang ABBA’s ‘Dancing Queen’. It was really, really bad. I was booed afterwards.”
Despite the light-hearted ribbing, the incident reflects the strong camaraderie within the Spurs squad and the friendly atmosphere among the players.
On the pitch, however, Bergvall has impressed. His performances during pre-season caught the attention of manager Ange Postecoglou, who has used him as a substitute in all three of Tottenham’s Premier League matches so far. His contributions are a promising sign of his growing role in the team.
As the season progresses, Spurs fans will be eager to see how Bergvall continues to develop and make an impact.
