Like I've said before..."- "Insider Evaluates Arsenal's Chances for January Transfer of Osimhen, Considering Break Clause and Reduced Fee

Arsenal insider Charles Watts has assessed the club’s potential interest in pursuing Victor Osimhen in the upcoming summer transfer window. Despite recent speculation, including genuine interest from Chelsea, Arsenal’s chances of acquiring Osimhen appear slim for now.

Currently on loan at Galatasaray after being pushed out by Napoli, Osimhen had an eventful debut where a goal he thought he had scored was credited to Abdulkerim Bardakci. His performances have attracted attention from various clubs, including Arsenal, prompting discussions about a possible January move.

Watts noted, “Victor Osimhen had a notable debut for Galatasaray with an assist, which led some Arsenal fans to advocate for his acquisition in January. It appears that his loan deal includes a break clause that could allow another club to sign him for a lower fee than his original release clause from Napoli.”

However, Watts is skeptical about Arsenal’s interest. “From what I’ve heard, Arsenal hasn’t shown any significant interest in Osimhen since the summer of 2022, when they chose Gabriel Jesus instead. If Arsenal does seek a new striker, they might target a different type of player. Currently, they are satisfied with Kai Havertz’s contributions as their central striker.”

Osimhen’s break clause could potentially allow one of the 10 interested clubs to secure him before his loan period at Galatasaray ends. His release clause at Napoli is reportedly reduced to £63 million. Despite Arsenal’s probable disinterest, Chelsea is expected to pursue Osimhen again after their summer bid fell short, potentially clearing their path to sign him.
