Notably, goalkeeper Simon Moore has yet to make his league debut, having been signed from Coventry City before Le Bris took over.
Moore, 34, joined Sunderland on a free transfer after being released by Coventry. He made his debut in the Carabao Cup against Preston North End, showcasing his abilities with several impressive saves, instilling confidence as a backup for Anthony Patterson.
At a recent fan Q&A, Moore shared that he had turned down offers from other Championship and League One clubs to join Sunderland, praising Patterson as a “top class young goalkeeper.”
His experience, despite having only 79 Championship appearances, adds significant value to the team. Moore’s arrival, alongside Browne and others, aligns with sporting director Kristjaan Speakman’s goal of enhancing the squad with seasoned talent.
