“From Unknown to Future Star: Daniel Farke Makes Bizzire Comments About Leeds Player Amid Haaland Comparisons and Pressure to Shine”

Ahead of Saturday’s match against Cardiff City, Leeds United manager Daniel Farke made an unusual comment comparing one of his players, Joseph, to Erling Haaland.

Last season, Joseph had a minimal impact, scoring only three goals. However, this season, Farke has named him his primary striker, and the Spain U21 star has started all five Championship matches to date. While he has scored just once, he also provided two assists in a match against Sheffield Wednesday and was awarded man of the match. Additionally, he netted a goal for Spain’s U21 team in a victory over Scotland.

Joseph is expected to start against Cardiff, despite facing criticism from Leeds fans after missing a clear opportunity against Burnley early in the game.

During Thursday’s press conference, Farke advised fans to temper their expectations regarding Joseph. He noted that the player has been praised as the next Haaland one week and criticized the next. Farke emphasized that while Joseph is working hard, fans should remain calm about his performance: “Before he scored in the Championship, he was dubbed the new Erling Haaland. After five games with few goals and missed chances, everyone should take a breath. He’s putting in a lot of effort.”

Joseph’s performances have also caught the attention of Spain’s national team coach, Luis De La Fuente. As he seeks to bolster his squad’s attacking options for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, De La Fuente is considering Joseph, particularly given Alvaro Morata’s mixed reception despite his impressive club history with teams like Juventus, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid.
