Amount Revealed"- "Iconic Terry Butcher England Shirt from 1986 World Cup Set to Fetch Up to........... at Auction

The England shirt worn by former Sunderland AFC star Terry Butcher is set to be auctioned, with experts from Graham Budd Auctions estimating it could fetch up to £3,000. The auction will take place on October 1 and 2.

This iconic shirt comes from the memorable 1986 World Cup match, which featured other legends like Glen Hoddle, Chris Waddle, and Peter Shilton. Butcher, who played 38 times for Sunderland between 1992 and 1993, also had stints at Ipswich Town, Rangers, Coventry, and Clydebank, and even managed the Black Cats in 1993.

His international career spanned from 1980 to 1996, during which he earned 77 caps for England. The match-worn, short-sleeved shirt is valued at approximately £2,000 to £3,000 and was worn during England’s Group F match against Poland on June 11, 1986, where they triumphed 3-0, thanks to a hat-trick from Gary Lineker. The shirt was exchanged with Jan Furtok after the match in Monterrey, Mexico.
