“Shocking! Discover Jack Clarke’s Eye-Watering Weekly Wage at Ipswich Town After Sunderland Exit

Jack Clarke proved to be a valuable player for Sunderland during his two-and-a-half years at the Stadium of Light. He initially joined on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the winter transfer window of 2022, seeking a productive stint away from London to reignite his career.

Although his time at Sunderland had its ups and downs, he made significant contributions, including an assist in the League One play-off semi-final that helped the Black Cats reach the final. Following their victory at Wembley against Wycombe Wanderers, Sunderland prepared for the Championship by securing key signings, including Clarke and Dan Ballard on permanent deals.

There were questions about Clarke’s ability to thrive at the second tier, given his previous struggles while on loan, but he elevated his performance after signing permanently, becoming a crucial player for the club during the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. Alongside Amad Diallo, he played a pivotal role in leading Sunderland to a top-six finish, despite the absence of Ross Stewart for much of the season and the mid-season recall of Ellis Simms.

Clarke’s goal-scoring improved in the subsequent campaign, netting 15 league goals and continuing to stand out. With two years left on his contract and consistent performances over the last two years, a move seemed inevitable. Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town secured Clarke in a £20 million deal in August.

At Ipswich, Clarke is reportedly earning £25,000 per week, which aligns him with other recent signings like Jacob Greaves and Chiedozie Ogbene. Six Ipswich players are earning more than Clarke, including loan signings Kalvin Phillips and Jens Cajuste, with Phillips reportedly earning £150,000 per week.

Since his departure from Sunderland, Clarke has had a quiet start at Ipswich, making two substitute appearances and starting in a Carabao Cup loss to AFC Wimbledon. He has yet to score or assist but has shown potential, particularly in a recent match against Brighton, suggesting that he could soon make a significant impact as he settles in at Portman Road.
