“JUST IN: Simon Jordan Stuns fans with his bold opinion on Leicester’s Steve Cooper chants, his comparison to Southampton will surprise you….

Simon Jordan has criticized the chants directed at Steve Cooper, calling them “unfair,” while expressing his confidence that Cooper can keep Leicester City in the Premier League. This came after Leicester fans chanted “Cooper, sort it out!” and “This is embarrassing!” during their Carabao Cup match against Walsall, which they only won after penalties following a goalless draw.

The match’s outcome followed a winless start to their Premier League season, where they earned just three points, placing them 15th in the league despite some discontent from fans during their recent draw with struggling Everton.

Jordan argued that the fans’ reactions are unjustified, asserting that Cooper’s pragmatic approach could be more effective than the idealistic style of Southampton’s Russell Martin. He stated on talkSPORT, “The squad is good enough for 15th position, which is where they are. If fans are unhappy with the football, they’re entitled to express that, but I believe Cooper’s tactics may help Leicester survive.”

He further noted that the result of a Carabao Cup match should not be overemphasized, especially against a motivated opponent. Jordan commented on the boos after the Everton game, explaining that Everton is not a weak team despite recent struggles.

He speculated whether the local context and past management at Nottingham Forest influenced the fans’ feelings. Jordan concluded that he believes Cooper is capable and optimistic about Leicester’s chances this season.

As one of six winless teams in the Premier League, Leicester faces a tough challenge to secure their first victory this weekend against unbeaten Arsenal.
