Regarding the pressure that comes with his hefty price tag, Solanke acknowledged it as a part of football but noted that critics were premature in their judgments, especially considering he was sidelined with an ankle injury early in the season. He said, “No matter the transfer fee, there’s always pressure in football. It’s something we have to manage.”
While Solanke admires Kane’s record as Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer, he’s not focused on replacing him. Instead, he aims to contribute as much as possible and help the team win trophies.
With a challenging match against Manchester United ahead, Solanke is optimistic, stating, “Everyone knows how big a club United are, but we’re not afraid. We’ll be on the front foot.”
As the next England squad announcement approaches, Solanke, whose last appearance for the national team was seven years ago, hopes to earn another call-up. He emphasized, “My main aim is to score and win at Tottenham, and then hopefully get back into the England team.”
