JUST IN: Bruno Fernandes makes damning four-word confession after Man Utd star sees red vs Spurs

Bruno Fernandes made a candid admission after receiving a red card in Manchester United’s 3-0 loss to Tottenham, acknowledging that he let down his teammates.

The United captain was shown his first red card at Old Trafford during a controversial tackle on James Maddison. As he slipped into the challenge, his foot caught Maddison high on the shin, prompting referee Chris Kavanagh to issue the red card.

In a rare move for a player sent off, Fernandes offered to speak to the media after the match. He stated, “I let my teammates down by leaving us a man short. I appreciate everything they do on the pitch, and it was tougher for them after my sending off.”

Fernandes reflected on the team’s poor start, saying, “We didn’t begin the game well even at 11 vs 11, and the red card changed everything. My teammates fought hard, but we conceded two more goals, making it difficult to cover all the spaces. There are positives to take from this, and I’m proud of the team.”

He added, “No one enjoys being sent off; it’s tough watching my teammates work hard for a result. They tried their best, but we ended up conceding two more goals.”
