After Tottenham Hotspur’s victory over Manchester United, a Tottenham player reportedly referred to Micky van de Ven as a “slow b*stard.”

Van de Ven delivered an outstanding performance against Man United, clearly being the best player on the pitch and providing a brilliant assist within the first three minutes. He mostly operated in United’s half, which suited him well and allowed for a break from defending. When he did need to defend, he showcased resilience and composure.

Despite his position and stature, it’s surprising how fast van de Ven is. He quickly transitions from one side of the pitch to the other, both with and without the ball.

During the match at Old Trafford, van de Ven sprinted the length of the pitch after making an interception to set up Brennan Johnson, highlighting his speed and ability to exploit space.

In classic British humor, James Maddison was quick to make a sarcastic remark, allegedly calling van de Ven a “slow b*stard” on his Instagram post. This comment was highlighted by a fan on Reddit, but it seems to have since vanished.

While the whereabouts of the comment are unclear, it wouldn’t be surprising for Maddison to say something like this, as he is known for being the jokester in the Spurs camp.

Maddison also had some fun on Instagram following the win, posting a video poking fun at van de Ven, accusing him of rewatching his assist repeatedly. He captioned the post: “Micky! Stop watching your assist,” adding, “Caught him!!!! Just keeps watching his assist back.”

Gary Neville named van de Ven as his man of the match, and while it might not have been pleasant viewing for the Manchester United legend, van de Ven’s exceptional performance was hard to overlook.

Honestly, who can blame van de Ven for wanting to relive his impressive display?
