Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly considering a move for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze in a potential cut-price deal next summer, according to Football Insider.

The Lilywhites focused on bolstering their attack this summer and were linked with Eze, but they did not make a formal bid before the transfer deadline. Instead, they opted to sign Dominic Solanke for a club record £65 million from AFC Bournemouth, while also bringing in Wilson Odobert from Burnley and securing Timo Werner on loan from RB Leipzig.

However, Werner may be heading back to Germany at the end of this season, as his performances haven’t justified a permanent move to Tottenham.

Now, Football Insider reports that Spurs are still interested in Eze and plan to reignite their pursuit. However, they are not expected to make a move during the January transfer window.

Eze, 26, has a £68 million release clause that will activate next summer, but with his contract entering its final two years after this season, Tottenham aims to explore a more affordable option in 2025. They could make a bid of at least £50 million to test Crystal Palace’s resolve, having monitored Eze’s recent performances closely.

A versatile player, Eze thrives as an attacking midfielder but is also effective on the left wing and can contribute in a box-to-box role. He has become a pivotal figure at Crystal Palace, showcasing his talent in the Premier League and earning a spot in the England squad.

Eze was part of the Three Lions squad that reached the European Championship final this summer, though he primarily served as a rotational player under Gareth Southgate.

It remains to be seen if Tottenham will pursue a formal bid for Eze next year to enhance their squad.
