“It was an incredible turnaround, and Tottenham didn’t rise to the occasion,” Sherwood said. “I never saw Maddison, Solanke, or Johnson in the second half. That’s when you need your key players to take control and keep the ball moving. Passes are like medicine in tough situations; the more you make, the better you feel.”
He likened their struggle to “dropping soap in the bath,” indicating how difficult it became for them to regain control once Brighton scored. Sherwood acknowledged Brighton’s ability to capitalize on Tottenham’s decline.
Looking ahead, Tottenham faces a crucial matchup against West Ham United after the international break. West Ham secured their first win of the season against Ipswich Town, with captain Jarrod Bowen scoring again.
