The Swedish midfielder was substituted just 12 minutes into the match after Postecoglou was forced to make changes in the Europa League game against Qarabag, following an early red card for Romanian international Radu Dragusin.
Bergvall, who joined Tottenham last summer from Djurgarden, was making only his second start for the club during their 3-0 victory over the Azerbaijani champions at White Hart Lane.
During his post-match press conference, Postecoglou offered words of encouragement to the 18-year-old, acknowledging his talent and expressing hope for his response despite the disappointment of being taken off early.
While traveling with the Swedish national team for their Nations League fixtures against Slovakia and Estonia, Bergvall was asked about the substitution. He expressed his disappointment but also understood the challenges faced by Postecoglou.
