“Unbelievable Revelation: Theo Walcott names Arsenal player he thinks was a far better FINISHER than Thierry Henry!
Theo Walcott has had the privilege of playing alongside some incredible talent throughout his career.
During his time at Arsenal and with the England national team, Walcott shared the pitch with legends like Thierry Henry, Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, and Cesc Fabregas.
In a recent TikTok interview with the BBC, Walcott has been creating his so-called ultimate player by combining the attributes of former opponents and teammates.
Naturally, he chose Lionel Messi for dribbling and Cesc Fabregas for passing. However, he made an intriguing assertion regarding the best finisher he’s played with.
Walcott overlooked Thierry Henry in favor of Robin van Persie, claiming the Dutchman was a superior finisher.
Walcott noted that while Henry scored more Premier League goals than Van Persie, he considers the latter to be more lethal in front of goal.
“The best finisher for me would be Robin van Persie; that left foot was like a wand. Surprisingly, not Thierry Henry, so yeah, Robin van Persie,” Walcott stated.
Despite his preference for Van Persie as a finisher, Walcott acknowledged Henry’s superiority as an all-round player. He had previously ranked Henry above Van Persie when discussing Arsenal legends a few months ago and also placed Henry ahead of Dennis Bergkamp.
Henry is undoubtedly one of Arsenal’s all-time greats and is often regarded as one of the best players in Premier League history. Cesc Fabregas recently commented that Henry belongs in the same conversation as Lionel Messi, and it’s easy to see why.
Henry has won more Premier League Golden Boots than anyone else and holds the record for the most assists in a single Premier League season. While Walcott may see Van Persie as the better finisher, there’s no denying Henry’s status as a true footballing icon.
