**Defoe on Tottenham’s Start to the Season**
In a conversation with Gambling.com, Defoe emphasized that it’s premature to draw conclusions about the season, noting the significant differences compared to last year under Postecoglou. He stated, “It’s early days. There’s still a long way to go.”
He added, “Last season, after the first 10 games, people were making a lot of noise about Tottenham’s performance because it was a shift from Antonio Conte’s style. Ange came in and implemented his philosophy, and the players quickly adapted, including the new signings.”
While Defoe recognizes the contrasting starts, he urges patience, saying, “They haven’t had the same start, but it’s still early days. It’s a long season, and I wouldn’t say it’s been the same start as last year. The game against Manchester United showed signs of a team moving in the right direction, but the season has been a bit stop-start overall, especially with losses to Leicester and Newcastle.”

This season presents new challenges for Postecoglou and Tottenham, particularly with the added demands of the Europa League and aspirations to advance in domestic cups.
