Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris dismissed Hull’s complaints about the referee following their 1-0 victory at the MKM Stadium.
Le Bris showed little sympathy for Hull, delivering a blunt two-word response when asked about their grievances. The match was decided by Wilson Isidor’s impressive solo goal, which came after Hull’s corner.
The hosts believed referee Bobby Madeley interfered with their corner routine, allowing Sunderland to regain possession. However, Madeley did not touch the ball and was positioned five yards away when Dan Neil won it for Sunderland.
Hull manager Tim Walter expressed his frustration with the officiating, but when questioned by Sky Sports about Hull’s unhappiness, Le Bris replied, “Not really.”
The win lifted Sunderland to the top of the Championship, although the game featured two contrasting halves.
“Winning away is tough,” Le Bris noted. “In the first half, we dominated possession but struggled to create chances in the final third, particularly from the wings, while also needing to handle their counterattacks.
“We didn’t anticipate this, thinking the game would unfold differently. At halftime, we adjusted, but in the second half, they played the way they wanted to. We were prepared for that and managed well.
“They controlled the game for the first six or seven minutes and had a significant chance. We then capitalized on our counterattacking strength, and Wilson made the difference.”
