“It wouldn’t surprise me he’s GOOD beyond the FANS imagination, because coached him for a while and know him very well. Spurs FANS would be FRUSTRATED if the bid was successful,” said the Napoli coach, making a SURPRISING REMARK about the Spurs star who has been linked to rival clubs, though nothing has materialized.
Radu Drăgușin was rumored to be leaving Tottenham Hotspur during the summer, but no transfer materialized. Napoli showed interest and recent reports suggest the Serie A club is considering a move for him in 2025.
On Tuesday, Drăgușin’s agent, Florin Manea, dismissed the possibility of the center-back leaving Spurs in the winter transfer window, emphasizing that the 22-year-old is not looking to move.
Despite this, Italian media continue to speculate about a potential return to Serie A for the former Genoa player. Sampdoria’s assistant manager, Roberto Baronio, mentioned Drăgușin as a possible option for Napoli during an appearance on Kiss Kiss Napoli’s Radio Goal. Baronio, who knows Drăgușin from his time at Juventus, stated it wouldn’t be surprising if he joined Napoli.
“Drăgușin at Napoli? It wouldn’t shock me. He performed well in Italy and established himself at Genoa; if he were to come to Napoli, he would compete for a starting position. I coached him for a while and know him well,” he remarked.
Drăgușin moved to Tottenham from Genoa in January but has not been a regular feature in Ange Postecoglou’s plans, accumulating 620 minutes across 13 matches, with only 196 minutes played this season.
