‘It means too much’ – Beto makes emotional admission after Everton equaliser against Fulham

Beto expressed his emotions following his late equalizer for Everton against Fulham, which came in the 94th minute, securing a 1-1 draw for the team.

Limited to just four substitute appearances in the Premier League this season and having been substituted in his previous game—a disappointing Carabao Cup loss to Southampton—Beto became Everton’s hero at Goodison Park. He scored with a header from an Ashley Young cross, marking his first league goal of the season.

Overcome with emotion after the match, he covered his face with his shirt as he left the pitch. In his post-match interview with Sky Sports, he shared how much the goal meant to him.

“It means everything to me,” he said. “I work hard, and even when I’m not playing, I keep pushing myself to improve. This goal is significant because it allows me to help the team, and it’s emotional for me. The last few weeks have been really tough, but while we didn’t win, I’m glad to secure a point.

“I’m grateful to the supporters who have always backed me and chanted my name. As a player, you want to repay that support.

“I’ve always kept in mind that I need to be ready for my opportunity, and today it came. I’m happy to help the team and the Toffees.

“I’ll enjoy this moment tonight. Tomorrow is a day off, and I’m looking forward to that.”
