Steve Cooper deserves some recognition for starting Harry Winks and Abdul Fatawu against Nottingham Forest, as both players earned their spots after contributing to the victory over Southampton.
However, Leicester City ultimately lost 3-1 at the King Power Stadium. A first-half equalizer from Jamie Vardy suggested a potential comeback after Ryan Yates had given Forest an early lead.
James Justin, however, had a disappointing performance. He was shifted to left-back with Ricardo Pereira making a rare start on the right, but Justin struggled against Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. His clearance attempt directly led to Yates’ goal, and while he improved defensively afterward, he remained ineffective overall, earning a low rating of 5 from Leicestershire Live.
Fans were likely pleased to see Pereira starting but might have questioned Cooper’s decision to keep Justin in the lineup despite his lackluster performance against Southampton and another error leading to a goal.
Continuing to rely on Justin, who seems to be costing Leicester a goal each game, puts Cooper’s job at risk. If this trend continues, Leicester could find themselves in serious relegation trouble.
