“It was kind of Tevez to say that, and I think he was probably talking more about my SPEED and ACCELERATION, but..." – Leicester City Star REVEALED a SHOCKING truth about the ‘VIRAL’ comparison to LIONEL MESSI, with statistics that tell a different story.

“It was kind of Tevez to say that, and I think he was probably talking more about my SPEED and ACCELERATION, but…” – Leicester City Star REVEALED a SHOCKING truth about the ‘VIRAL’ comparison to LIONEL MESSI, with statistics that tell a different story.

Facundo Buonanotte has certainly met expectations since his summer transfer to Leicester City. The 19-year-old winger joined the King Power Stadium on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion during the recent transfer window.

As Leicester struggled to find an attacking rhythm in pre-season, there was significant pressure on Buonanotte to deliver. However, he has risen to the occasion, impressing many, including Troy Deeney, after his standout performance in the Foxes’ 3-2 victory over Southampton last month. In that match, Buonanotte scored his third Premier League goal of the season, bringing his total to five goal contributions in just eight league appearances.

The recognition of Buonanotte as Leicester’s MVP this season aligns with praise from Carlos Tevez, who previously managed him at Brighton. Tevez made a striking comparison between Buonanotte and Lionel Messi, saying, “When he brakes and accelerates, he reminds me of [Lionel] Messi. He is at a very high level.”

In a recent interview with the Telegraph, Buonanotte reflected on Tevez’s comments, expressing gratitude while cautioning against direct comparisons to Messi. “No, it is impossible,” he stated, adding that Messi was his childhood idol and hero. “I’m only 19, and he was already playing in huge derbies for Barcelona against Real Madrid by that age.”

When comparing their statistics at 19, it’s noteworthy that Messi had already made a significant impact at FC Barcelona, winning two La Liga titles. In contrast, Buonanotte is still making his mark, having played 94 matches for Brighton, Leicester, and Rosario Central. Despite the different contexts, Leicester and Brighton fans can take comfort in seeing Buonanotte’s performance level closely track that of one of the all-time greats at this stage in his career.
