Arsenal is reportedly eyeing a move for West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus, according to the Mirror.
The 24-year-old impressed during his time at Ajax Amsterdam, leading West Ham to sign him last year. Kudus had a strong debut season in the Premier League, contributing to 14 goals in 33 appearances. Although he started this season slowly, he has recently scored twice in his last two league matches. However, he is currently suspended after receiving a straight red card against Tottenham Hotspur last month.
The Mirror suggests that Arsenal is considering Kudus as a potential replacement for Leandro Trossard, who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. Al-Ittihad attempted to sign Trossard late in the summer transfer window, but Arsenal managed to retain him. Nevertheless, the Saudi club remains interested and may pursue him again for around £40 million next year.
Arsenal hopes to entice Kudus away from the London Stadium, with West Ham valuing him at approximately £90 million. Following their £105 million purchase of Declan Rice from West Ham last year, it will be intriguing to see if Mikel Arteta’s team targets another key player from their rivals.
Kudus is versatile, comfortable playing on the wing or filling in as a center-forward or attacking midfielder. His technical skills, ability to dribble in tight spaces, playmaking ability, set-piece proficiency, and vision for long passes make him a promising talent.
As a proven Premier League player, Kudus could be a valuable addition for Arsenal. It remains to be seen if they will make a serious bid for him in the upcoming transfer window.
