“He was solid defensively making four tackles and one interception. He won 100% of his aerial duels and won five out of seven ground duels now UNDROPABLE”- Alan Shearer now believes Nottingham Forest cannot do without this unbelievable star after his performance v WHU

Nottingham Forest climbed to third in the Premier League after securing a commanding 3-0 victory over West Ham at the City Ground on Saturday.

Under the guidance of Nuno Espirito Santo, Forest have made an excellent start to the season. Not only are they sitting high in the table, but they are also the only team to have defeated league leaders Liverpool this season, doing so at Anfield.

Chris Wood continued his fine form, opening the scoring for Forest with a close-range header. The task became even easier for the hosts when West Ham were reduced to ten men after Edson Álvarez was sent off for a red card in the first half.

Callum Hudson-Odoi doubled the lead with a free-kick that slipped past Lukasz Fabianski, and Ola Aina sealed the win with a thunderous left-foot strike that rifled into the top corner.

Aina’s performance earned him a spot in Alan Shearer’s Premier League Team of the Week, with the pundit praising his “sensational” goal and his contribution to Forest’s solid defensive display.

Shearer said: “He scored a sensational goal in the win over West Ham and was part of a strong defensive performance from Nottingham Forest.”

Aina, a key figure for Nuno, has started all ten Premier League games this season. Defensively, he was impressive, making four tackles, one interception, and winning 100% of his aerial duels. He also triumphed in five of seven ground duels. Despite losing possession 14 times, he maintained a high passing accuracy of 91%, according to SofaScore.

Looking ahead, Forest will aim to continue their impressive form when they face Newcastle at the City Ground this week before the international break. The Magpies come into the match full of confidence after a 1-0 win over Arsenal at St James’ Park, making for an exciting contest.

With three consecutive wins, confidence is high within the squad, and Forest fans will be hoping their strong run continues.

In other news, Forest are reportedly targeting a move for 19-year-old French winger as they look to strengthen their squad.
