Sunderland will travel to Preston North End in the Championship on Wednesday night for a clash between two teams at opposite ends of the table.

Sunderland, on the other hand, drew 0-0 with QPR at Loftus Road, ending a three-match winning streak.
Sam Parkin’s Prediction for Preston vs Sunderland
Ahead of Wednesday’s game at Deepdale, EFL pundit Sam Parkin gave his score prediction on the Championship Check In podcast. He believes Preston will manage to frustrate Sunderland once again, but fall short of securing all three points.
“I’m going for lightning to strike twice,” Parkin said. “I’m not predicting a 0-0 again, but I do think Preston will get a point here. I’m going for a 1-1 draw. Preston had plenty of attempts against Bristol City, but Bristol were clinical. I think Preston will be competitive and might fancy their chances of frustrating Sunderland.”

Parkin was spot on with his prediction for Sunderland’s 0-0 draw with QPR, correctly foreseeing a goalless stalemate. Before the match, he noted, “Everything points towards a Sunderland win, but at some point, their run has to come to an end.”
Preston vs Sunderland Head-to-Head
Preston beat Sunderland 2-0 in the Carabao Cup back in August. Last season, Preston won 2-1 at Deepdale in the Championship, while Sunderland triumphed 2-0 at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland’s victory on New Year’s Day ended a 20-year wait for an away win at Deepdale, a ground where they had only managed one win in the previous nine encounters.
The match kicks off at 8pm on Wednesday night and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
